Terms of Service
Version 1.0 · Last updated 2026-10-15 · Effective 2026-10-15
About these terms
These terms set the conditions for using the TapCaster apps (the remote apps for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Android and Wear OS, and the PC apps for Windows and macOS) and the group management service provided by XIUSoft (Republic of Korea) ("XIUSoft", "we" or "us").
You use the free personal features under these terms by installing and using the apps. Group management is available after you review these terms and the privacy policy, which are shown when you first sign in or buy a subscription. How we handle personal data is described separately in the privacy policy.
What the service includes
- Personal features (free): the remote, integrations with presentation and streaming programs, presets and other personal features are free and work only on the same local network, without an account, server or payment.
- Group management (paid subscription): an optional feature for managing several PCs in one place, using a XIUSoft account and the XIUSoft server. Only the group owner needs a subscription; invited members do not need their own.
- We may add or change features to improve the apps. If we significantly reduce paid features, we will tell you in advance in the app or on this page.
Group management subscription
- Products and payment: the subscription comes as monthly (1 month) or annual (1 year). In Korea it costs KRW 4,900 per month or KRW 49,000 per year (VAT included); prices elsewhere are shown in your local currency in the store before you buy. It is sold only as an in-app subscription on the App Store or Google Play, and the first payment is charged to your store account when you confirm the purchase. If there is a free trial or introductory offer, its length and conditions are shown in the store before you buy, and the subscription renews at the regular price when it ends. The Windows and macOS PC apps take no payment; they only check the entitlement of the subscribed account.
- Automatic renewal: unless you cancel before the current period ends, the subscription renews automatically for the same period (on the App Store you must cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends). When the renewal is charged to your store account depends on the store: the App Store charges within the 24 hours before the period ends, Google Play on the renewal date.
- Cancellation: you can cancel at any time in the subscription settings of the App Store or Google Play. After cancelling you can keep using it until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel the subscription.
- Refunds: we cannot cancel or refund App Store payments, so please ask Apple for a refund. Google Play payments follow Google Play's refund policy; you can ask Google Play or us (contact@xiu.kr).
- Withdrawal (Korea): users in Korea may withdraw from a subscription within 7 days of payment. Once you create a group or start using group management, supply of digital content has begun and withdrawal may be limited under Article 17(2) of the Korean Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce; these terms tell you this in advance. If what you received differs from what was displayed, advertised or agreed, you may withdraw within 3 months of receiving it or within 30 days of learning of it. Withdrawals and refunds are processed by the store you paid through (Apple or Google Play), and we help with any checks needed. These terms do not limit any right of withdrawal or refund that users elsewhere have under their local law.
- Price changes: before raising the subscription price we tell you at least 30 days in advance, in the app and by email or store notice, with the new price, the date it applies and how to cancel, and we ask for your consent where the law or the store requires it. If you do not consent, the subscription ends at the end of the current period.
- After the subscription ends: group data is view-only for 30 days. After 30 days the app no longer shows the group data, but it is not deleted from the server and comes back as it was if you subscribe again (to delete it, see "Your rights and deletion" in the privacy policy). You can keep using the free personal features.
Where it is offered
Group management is not offered in the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA) or the UK. There the apps hide the group management menu and only the free personal features are available. Subscriptions are not sold in mainland China, but the menu is shown and you can sign in with a XIUSoft account to use a group you were invited to. The region is taken from the country set on the device (the App Store country on iPhone and iPad, the Google Play country on Android, the Windows country setting on Windows, the system region on macOS).
XIUSoft account
Group management requires a XIUSoft account, created by signing in with Apple or Google. Creating, using and deleting the account is governed by the XIUSoft account terms of service; where they differ from these terms, these terms prevail for matters concerning TapCaster.
Only people aged 16 or over (or the higher age required by the law of your country) can create an account. You are responsible for keeping the devices you are signed in on and the devices that hold the group key secure. You can delete the account at any time in the app under Settings → Group management → Delete account (after signing in), or on the web at https://account.xiu.kr.
Prohibited conduct
You must not do the following. If you do, we may restrict your use of group management or suspend your account after telling you the reason and duration by email in advance; where there is urgent harm to other users or the service, we may act first and tell you right away. You may object to contact@xiu.kr within 14 days of the notice.
- Connecting a PC you are not authorized to use, or controlling another person's PC without their consent
- Bypassing or disabling security features of the apps or server (encryption, command signing, device approval)
- Bypassing the subscription entitlement check, or reselling group management to others for payment
- Sending excessive requests to the server or disrupting the operation of the service
- Using the service to break the law or infringe the rights of others
- Reverse engineering or modifying the apps and distributing the result, except where the law allows it
Your responsibility
TapCaster carries out the commands you send on the PCs you allow. You decide which PCs to connect and which commands to send, and you are responsible for the results. Before important occasions such as worship services, events or broadcasts, please test the connection and actions in advance.
Intellectual property
The rights to the TapCaster apps, name, logo and design belong to us. The presets and group data you create belong to you. The names and trademarks of other companies' programs we integrate with (for example OBS Studio, PowerPoint, Keynote) belong to their respective owners; we are not affiliated with, endorsed or recommended by those companies.
Changes to and interruption of the service
Group management may be temporarily unavailable due to server maintenance, outages, natural disasters or similar events. The free personal features do not use the server and are not affected. If we have to end group management, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance in the app and on this page, and we will arrange a refund for any paid period you can no longer use (we refund Google Play purchases directly; for App Store purchases we will help you request a refund from Apple). Before it ends you can delete your group data.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the apps and the service are provided "as is". We do not warrant that they will always work without errors in every PC, program and network environment.
Unless we acted intentionally or with gross negligence, we are not liable for indirect, special or consequential damages arising from use of the service, and any other liability is limited to the amount you paid for group management in the 12 months before the damage occurred. This section does not limit our liability for damage caused intentionally or by our gross negligence, for death, personal injury or damage to health, under product liability or other rules that cannot be excluded by law, or under laws that impose liability on us (including compensation for personal data breaches under the Korean Personal Information Protection Act), nor the consumer rights guaranteed by the law of the country where you live.
Apps obtained from the App Store
The following also applies to apps you downloaded from the App Store. For questions about the app, use the contact details under "Contact" below.
- These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content.
- You receive a non-transferable right to use the app on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the App Store Terms of Service.
- We are solely responsible for maintenance and support of the app; Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer protection law.
- If a third party claims that the app or your use of it infringes its intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must comply with applicable third-party terms (for example, your carrier or Wi-Fi terms) when using the app.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and once you accept these terms Apple will have the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will announce the effective date, the changes and the reason on this page and in the app at least 7 days before they take effect (30 days for changes that are unfavorable to you or important), and we will also email group management account holders about unfavorable changes. The notice will clearly state that if you do not object by the effective date you will be treated as having agreed; if you do not object by then, you are deemed to have agreed to the new terms to the extent the law allows. Where the law of your country requires express consent, we will ask for it. If you do not agree, you can stop using the service and cancel your subscription.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Korea. We will first try to resolve any dispute through the contact below; if court proceedings are needed, they will be heard by the court with jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act. Mandatory consumer protections and jurisdiction rules of the country where you live continue to apply.
